Overcoming the Darkness 2023

Hi, I'm Darren Marlar from the Weird Darkness podcast.
Every October I dedicate the Weird Darkness podcast to raising funds for organizations that help people who struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide/self-harm. This year the total raised in October will be divided equally between The Suicide And Crisis Lifeline , The Crisis Text Line , Save.org , and the International Foundation for Research and Education of Depression (iFred). I'll close out the fundraiser at the end of October and announce how much we raised.  A gift of any amount will bring us closer and closer to our goal - or help us surpass it!  That means more people who are affected by depression or thoughts of self-harm can get the help they need. We all know someone who struggles with depression - whether we know it or not. It's something those who suffer tend to deal with in silence, in the shadows. But these organizations above are working to make it easier for those in the darkness to come into the light, to find help, and to know your are not alone in your depression - and there are ways to overcome the darkness and live a normal life.  I'm evidence of that, as I struggle with depression myself.  So please, give what you can, share this campaign with others; challenge them to donate and share just as you have!
